Cyprus Academy is now able to serve gifted children from great distances with its one-of-a-kind, ability-based gifted program.
Cyprus Classical Academy has outdone nearly every other K-8 school program during COVID-19 by offering 100% of its online program synchronously. Students completed the 2020 school year by receiving daily, direct instruction from their teachers and retained their school schedule during distance learning while working in lots of physical activity, classwork, and projects away from the screen.
Cyprus Classical Academy's online summer program will offer the same, quality, online, synchronous learning throughout the summer. Students may enroll in the full summer-school program, or choose individual classes. |
Summer Program Details
Mission
Cyprus Academy is offering its online summer program to any gifted student who wants to keep learning over the summer. We believe in allowing academic progression at a pace that aligns with children's ability and motivation. We seek to reach as many gifted children as possible with our online summer classes, delivering synchronous individualized support and learning at a level and pace commensurate with their high abilities. Admssions Criteria Each class description will note prerequisites as applicable. Parents are asked to make the decision of whether a class is at an appropriate level for their child. Orientation There will be a Zoom Orientation Meeting for parents and students on Friday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. During this orientation, we will show and explain how to find and access classes as well as how to submit work. We will also cover information regarding much-used features of Zoom including screen sharing, audio, video, and chat. We will share what Academy teachers have learned about how to help our youngest students easily access everything they need without requiring much adult assistance. |
Free Zoom Meet-Ups
All students ages 3-14 enrolled in any summer online class or program will automatically be enrolled in our Zoom Meet-Ups for their age group. These meet-ups will offer structured "ice-breakers" and games to facilitate community building, socializing with peers, and making new friends. Ability-Based Education Our curricula takes both age and ability into consideration. Please make sure your child fits both categories for enrollment. If you are unable to find a category that matches both, please contact admin@cyprusclassicalacademy for assistance placing your child. Technology Requirements The following is required
