​Requirements

Super K Admission Requirements
Ages 4-5 on 9/1

Academic Requirements:
Minimum Reading Requirements

• Knows all letter sounds.
• Is beginning to sound out three letter phonetic words.

Minimum Math Requirements

• Can accurately count to 20.
• Recognizes numbers through 10.
• Can accurately count objects with 1-1 correspondence.

Minimum Writing Requirements

• Can write recognizable letters by copying them.

Social/Emotional Development

• Super K students are expected to have an age-appropriate or better attention span for their age. (Can pay attention for at least 5 minutes.)
• Able to follow basic rules.
• Usually able to separate from parents.
• Enjoys learning

Self Care

• Able to use the bathroom and wash up independently.
• Understands and will consistently stay within safety boundaries.

Elementary
​Requirements

Elementary Admission Requirements
Ages 6-10 on 9/1

Academic Achievement

• Must show evidence that student meets or exceeds grade levels in math and reading.
• Must show evidence that student is advanced in at least one area.

Evidence must include test scores from standardized achievement tests (MAP, etc.,) or a portfolio of work. We may require an in-house assessment.

Intellectual Ability

• Due to our ability-based classes, we are able to serve students who score between 90th - 99.9th+ percentile on IQ and/or Cognitive Abilities tests in at least one area.
• We require all prospective students to show evidence of intellectual ability.  See below for details

Social/Emotional Development
Cyprus has small class sizes, and the pacing of each class is highly dependent on each student's participation. This includes being motivated to learn, having a positive attitude, completing assignments as expected, and actively listening during class.

Bridge Program
​Requirements

Bridge Program Admission Requirements
Ages 11-13 on 9/1

Cyprus Classical Academy's Bridge Program is for highly motivated learners in middle school who seek a more challenging education.

Requirements
The admission requirements for Bridge students are the same as for Elementary admission. We also require that in addition our school application that parents/guardians fill out, Bridge students have a separate student  application to complete for admission and must schedule an interview with a Cyprus faculty member.

Super K Program (On-site Only)
To enroll in Cyprus Classical Academy's Super K, students must be 4 or 5 years old on September 1st of the current school year and meet the academic, social, emotional and self-care requirements. (See above.)

• 1-3 minute video of your child reading (if applicable).
• Student must meet the social/emotional and self-care requirements.
• Student must attend a visit day on-site.

Required Evidence of High Ability (Elementary and Bridge Students)
Option 1: IQ Testing
Please submit all tests and reports. (IQ tests and/or Cognitive Abilities Testing that include both a verbal and non-verbal component with percentiles.)
Local Families: If your child has not taken an IQ or Cognitive Abilities test, we are able to schedule a test session for your child or you may schedule your own test independently.
Non-Local Families: If your child has not yet taken an IQ or Cognitive Abilities test, please schedule one near you or submit alternative evidence of high ability. (See below.) 

Option 2: Alternative Evidence of High Ability
We require all of the following in lieu of an IQ or Cognitive Abilities Test:
 (If you choose this option, we will send details with specific requirements.)

1. Families must submit a portfolio of work that displays high ability in at least one subject area.
2. Families must submit at least two academic recommendations from educators.
3. We may require an in-house assessment.
