Cyprus Gifted Academy Summer Online Policies
Payment Policies:
A non-refundable deposit is due upon enrollment for each class. After May 31, families are responsible for full payment for classes in which they have enrolled. Families may pay in full prior to the first day of camp, or in three equal monthly payments due in June, July, and August. There is no reduction in tuition for absences, illness, holidays, vacation time, or teacher absence. Teachers will make every effort to make up classes due to teacher absence. Teachers may, but are not required to reschedule a private class session due to student absence. Students are expected to follow Cyprus Academy’s Code of Conduct, and may be removed from a class if they are in violation of the Code of Conduct with no refund.
Placement in Classes
All placements are determined by parents or guardians upon enrollment. Academic classes should be chosen according to a child's academic ability and achievement level. There are also age requirements associated with each class. If a parent would like an exception made to the age requirements, please contact admin@cyprus classical academy with your request and reason for your request. Cyprus Academy has educated gifted children, including the most profoundly gifted children, at their challenge level for many years. We believe that children should learn with their peers in both ability and age, but we also know there are rare exceptions. We seek to educate each child according to their individual needs.
If a teacher sees that a child is incorrectly placed into a class (either too high or too low,) a parent meeting will be requested to discuss moving the child to a class commensurate with their abilities.
Accelerated High School Math Classes
We offer a full year of high school math classes over the summer for students as young as 7-8 years old. Please note that these classes require dedicated time outside of class to keep up. Only students who are highly motivated learners with excellent self-discipline or consistent parental support should enroll in these classes. We highly suggest that only one accelerated high school level class be taken during the summer per student. At the end of the class, students who pass will receive a certificate of completion. They will also take a widely-accepted, standardized, end-of-year test with a score report to show their achievement.
